Notre Maison, Our Home

In May of 2010, while in Haiti helping in the post-earthquake relief efforts, Marie Volcy, Vanessa Volcy, Jennifer Volcy and Elle Mejia became engrossed in conversations regarding the great need for a project to help the thousands of orphaned children in Haiti.  And so, plans for “Notre Maison” began to come to fruition.

With the generous support of Churches of Christ across Canada, and the countless work of a dedicated group of volunteers, purchased land was allocated, and plans were laid out for a two-phase building project that would eventually serve the needs of some of the nation’s most needy children.  Building commenced in December 2012, and after several mission trips, Notre Maison opened its doors to children on November 21, 2015.

The phrase “Notre Maison” means “Our Home” in French. And we are now the home for eight children (five girls & three boys).
