Church Planting: Fonds Parisien

Jean Volcy, a native of Haiti, and an elder of the Strathmore Blvd. congregation in Toronto, returned to Haiti in December of 2002 with a mission to establish a congregation of the Lord’s Church in his hometown of Fonds Parisien. With the aid of several brethren from the Delmas 28 congregation in Port-au-Prince, some brethren from the Petite Place Cazeau congregation, and Yvon Beaudoin of Quebec City, Canada, a very successful 8-day campaign was realized.

During the campaign (December 15 through 22) there were 12 baptisms, including Jean’s sister. With God’s grace, the church was established there as planned.

Fast forward to now, and the Haiti Mission has grown to include Notre Maison (a home for orphaned children) and Lakeview Academy, a private school.

About once a year, brethren from congregations across Canada and the United States continue to travel to Fonds Parisien to help in guiding and strengthening the congregation and these initiatives.
